Why do you need to know whether it's legal? If you don't want him to do it, ask him to stop. If you want to know whether there's a policy at the company, ask the HR team.

Anyone smoking "inside" the workplace is committing a criminal offence no matter who that person is. If the MD is smoking in the building then he is breaking the law.

All you need to do is anonomously contact the Environmental Health Dept. of your local council and they will do the rest.

It's illegal to smoke on your place of work (unless you're smoking in a designated smoking area) since January this year, it's a European directive so it's valid in the UK. And in a year's time it won't be legal anymore to smoke in public places like bars and restaurants either.

No, smoking in the workplace is illegal in the uk. That's how come it's getting banned in bars/restraunts.

I think your not allowed to smoke in the building, thats what my boss, mum and dad and training adviser says to me.

Not sure, if you hate it ignore it who cares. Try not to breathe it in or something. I hate smokin, but im not gonna ***** about it to someone unless they're foggin up the whole place.
