I hope he has a great season. I do wish the media would leave him though.

I do, but you have to admit he makes great soundbites---they're exactly what ESPN, FOX Sports, and all sports-talk radio stations are looking for: a controversial figure that stirs debate any time he says anything. T.O. will have to shut himself up first, and as long as he's being goaded into saying anything, that won't happen.

the function of the media is to stir up some controversy or another about some kind of subject real or imaginary. Otherwise either a) people sleep or b) once they sleep it is difficult to wake them up or c)people start going their own ways it is difficult to keep them in check - media has to stun them from time to time. So media says something or the other from now and then to stir controversy and keep people on their toes and "your attention please" mode? Would that be a sufficient explanation

I agree but you should be careful what you wish for regarding injury. I think Skyler Green is having a great camp for the pokes. What's with all the LSU players in Dallas?

His 15 minutes has got to be close to being up. T.O. has made so many enemies I don't know what he will do when he is retired from football. My guess is be homeless under a bridge after he has blown all his money on frivelous crap.

Unfortunately most American folk love to hear the gossip about a player like TO (who really enjoys the limelight). Cooler talk.
IT gets really monotenous after a while though

i agree with you. football is too focused on the players beehavior rather than his talents. and most the time talents are only exploited when they think a player is overated. all this atention on TO will eventually stop at the start of the season until he opens his mouth again. then history will just repeat itself.
