try to see the advantages and disadvantages of being married to one another...if you think being married is worth being discouraged by society or if it's not then i guess it's up to you...if you really wanna get married then don't let society discourage you..stand up for what you believe in but don't follow your instincts too far!!

Why would society not allow you? Are you of the same sex (although this is allowed already in some states)? Are you close relatives? Is one of you married or maybe both of you?
If the reason is neither of the above and you are both free to get married, then why not? If whatever it is that makes your tying the knot a taboo, you have to clear that out first that is IF it is possible. Afterwards, I don't see any reason why you can't go ahead with your plan if you two really love each other. I believe that FOR AS LONG AS:
a) you don't hurt anyone, or
b) you don't step on anyone's toes in the process or
c) it isn't illegal
..... the two of you should just go ahead and do what makes you both happy and not care what other people say.
