yeah, that whole area is unusual. Sighting have occurred from Mexico to Colorado. Recent cattle mutilations reported in the San Juan area of Colorado, these have had a write up in the Denver post within the last three months (no kidding folks). I have seen what is supposed to have been crash site pseudo-morphic rock (formed on impact). There are really no major cities in the area, so the night sky is spectacular, allowing one to practically see the milky-way by eye. I, however, am more inclined to be wary of a close encounter with a rattlesnake.

never been to roswell.
But once when I was in the military I was told to drive up a mountain to my next radio site. It was to be a 2 hour drive up.
About an hour into the drive up I thought I had nearly fallen asleep at the wheel, when what I thought was 'headlights' appeared out of no where. I swerved to miss them. I was totally awake from then on.
I arrived at the site and was told by a waiting sargent.
That I was hours overdue. That they were 'about' to send out a search party.
It was a 2 hour drive that took 4-5 hours. Never could explain it.
There was 2 other men in the truck with me. and neither one of them could come up with an answer either. They had fallen asleep within the first 30 minutes of the drive. And didn't wake up till we arrived on site. I remember it was 'spooky', not to have an answer for the sargent.
We left at about midnight. and was eating breakfast about 30 minutes after we arrived on site. at 5:30 am.

No, I've never been to Roswell. I can't say that I am all that interested in going either. UFO's have been spotted other places too. Just because one supposedly crashed there, I don't think that makes it all that special.

I believe the whole UFO phenomena will reveal itself in due course anyway. Until then, I will just sit and contemplate it on my own time in my own home.

:)

Been there. Neat tourist traps involving UFOs. Didn't see anything unusual except for a lot of money changing hands
