I have had that happen and would have died if my husband wasn't an RN and gave me a shot of Epinephrine to counteract the symptoms. Trust me, suffocating and itching to death is a very unpleasant way to go. Even the insides of my ears itched! I also had hives, my nose running like a faucet, my eyes watering so bad I couldn't see, and my throat itching. For me, the trigger substance was seafood, but it can be anything for anyone.

You can die from the asthma it triggers, but anaphylactic shock can also cause the blood pressure drop and thus cause death.

So, my answer would be NO because that is a very hard way to go.

I too am allergic, not to the common peanut but to all tree nuts. I wold not eat a tree nut to commit suicide because the hour I had left to live would be spent dying.

I'm diabetic and take advantage of my kidneys everyday. I feel that what doesn't kill me will only make me stronger. Plus I don't plan on living long enough to deal with the consequences of my action. I plan to avoid responsibility as much as possible.

My wife knew a guy who was allergic to dairy and tried to commit suicide by eating a big tub of Rocky Road ice cream.

He got rushed to hospital and survived.

It would be a terrible way to die - you would suffocate from the inside.
