According to archaeologists, it was probably invented in around 8,000 B.C. in Asia. The oldest wheel known however, was discovered in Mesopotamia and probably dates back to 3,500 B.C.
This wheel was believed to have been made by the Sumerians. It was made of planks of wood joined together.

The Mesopotamians around 3500 B.C. used a wheel for pottery making. Mesopotamia is now modern day Iraq. So I guess one could say that the Iraq's invented the wheel. Around 2000 B.C.the Egyptians used a wheel with spokes.

Who cares.... the wheel isn't the important part. You should ask, who figured out to put a long piece of wood between two wheels making an axle and creating the basis of transportation today..

As he was headed for the exit, his ex. bonked him on the head with a large stone, it split in two. and rolled down the path.
Thus giving him the idea for the wheel.
This is also when the phrase "hard headed" was coined.
Divorce lawyers were invented soon after.

Barney Rubble (Fred's car had rollers). Fred and Barney may have been African Americans, but it is so hard to tell in the cartoon.
