One fact I read in a newspaper was that there has never been a period in time where there hasn't been a war somewhere for a period of more then 25 years since the 1400's (I forgot the exact date stated.)

Never, because man's societies need an enemy. Even in the most primitive societies, you will find that neighbouring tribes keep raiding each other. So do chimpanzees.

If ever there were a peaceful tribe, it would soon have been wiped out by the belligerent, fighting ones. So their genes got passed on.

The world is a pretty big place. And what do you mean by war? Vietnam was a conflict - remember? So if you mean an actually declared war? I don't know.. but if you mean one counrty fighting anohter with guns and such.. I sort of doubt it.

never- we are tribal by our very nature- that means survival of the fittest, so naturally we are inclined to war on each other.

Unfortunately man's moral conscience has evolved at a slower rate than our ability to create weapons of war

I don't think the dinosaurs were 'technically' at war... they just ate each other, or other animals/plants.
At least, I doubt there was a declaration of war anyway.
