Have you been on the Internet most of that time? Because stimulating the brain can keep you awake. That is, after all, the survival value of alertness. You may need a strong act of will to shut down the computer and go to bed.

I blame Aerosmith.
I keep thinking "Tell me how it is that you can't sleep in the night without thinking you've lost everything that was good in your life to the toss of the dice"
It's been going through my head since midnight so I got up at 5.
I hope you just have insomnia.
I'm going to vent later with a question that should get me beat up verbally. I need a good @ss kicking when I'm down.

Maybe it is because of your changed lifestyle. If you often stay awake after your normal bedtime, the timing may change and you might not feel tired until your body cannot stand it. Try readjust your bedtime and go to bed earlier...

You are either suffering from stress or insomnia; had too much caffeine from soda, coffee, chocolates, tea, etc; or your body is just too tired or over-worked.
