they are actually sold (human trafficing). Some actually sign up at a "temp agency" thinking that they are going to another country to work and make lots of money, then when they get there they find out that it's not what they were told. But, by then its too late because the person who paid for them has their identification and is forcing them to do whatever they want. Some can eventually buy back their freedom, depending on who they work for and what they do.

russian mail order brides are the best wifes if you got cancer , hiv or any other deadly dieses just tell them where your money is and you will get a full and final treatment well make sure you order the wife with 6inch wide hole not 6 feet ( they come in that size too and i mean it ...really do )

Their economy is so destitute that they are willing to give their life savings to come to the US and get a better life by any means necessary. The easiest way to get a green card is to be married to a citizen of the US. I wouldn't do it simply for the fact that to me that is not true love, it is just a marriage of convenience.
