We have a wireless router so I cna use my laptop. Up until yesterday I could play games on pogo.com no problem. My hubby was messing with the router so things would run faster and now I can not play games there because it says I am behind a firewall. Is there a way to disable the firewall just for my laptop, FROM my laptop? I am 39weeks pregnant so I spend a lot of time resting in bed and miss my games!

Best thing to do is to call the manufacturer. It could be your Software firewall like Windows XPs firewall of Norton or McAfees Anti-virus and Firewall.

On most routers there is a way - you'd have to go into the settings (see your router manual for how to do that). In most cases, you can specify a device or an IP address (most routers will list the computers connected to them, with their IP addresses) and set it to be outside the firewall. This may require to set up your laptop to be in the "DMZ", as it's called, which basically means not to be behind the router's firewall security defenses. It's a less secure connection to the Internet, but that's how you'd do it.

on the corner below at the right of your desktop there should be a little icon that stands for your connection with the router. just go in there and click your way through the properties. there should be an option to choose your windows firewall. choose this. maybe it works that way, because the firewall of the router is blocking you. I dont recommend blocking the firewall in general completely, you could have real troubles then.

It really isn't a good idea to disable your router firewall. Make sure you haven't got a software firewall turned on as well especialy Windows Firewall.
