Nothing... poses an interesting problem when discussing it in this world of existence. If there is to be such a state as nothingness would it be right to say that it "exists". If it exists, then it is something. Nothing is supposed to represent theoretically that which does not exist. So, to say that nothingness exists is to say that there is a state of emptiness or void.
Buddhists believe that the ultimate state of enlightenment consists of the realization of nothingness. The cessation of all that we perceive. It is thought that causes the perception of existence. When thoughts cease, the perception of existence ceases. In that state of non-perception nothing exists and that is "nothingness".

Interesting question. In a sense "nothingness" cannot exist. We are learning even infinite space -- which was thought to be lighyears of nothingness sprinkled with an occasional somethingness -- has a presence, is *some*thing.

YES....it can.
In Mathematics ZERO is nothing. It is not considered even as a number.
But its introduction changed the mathematic way of thinking.
All the procedure in the decadic system, through which we saw the industrial revolution and scientific evolution became a fact because of a "nothing"
BUT..... even ZERO is nothing.....it gives value if its position is behind another number and it is repeated many times.

I dont think so, because matter never completely disappers. I think that certain philosophies (like buddhists) try to meditate and find nothingness because the idea is free of the constraints of life, be it lust or greed or dispair.

Nothing is the absence of anything, so, if anything can exist, then, nothing can exist. It is the cosmic balance.

The Universe began in "Nothingness".
When we are spacing out into "Nothingness".
We work hard, but in the end, we receive "Nothingness".
You love someone but he/she doesn't love you back. You're in "Nothingness".

So, it does exist.
