I believe he did. Fetal stem cell research has shown little promise, while adult stem cell research has already made huge gains. There is more then enough private money going into fetal stem cell research, 100 million last year.

Why should the government fund a type of research, that by its nature REQUIRES the death of unborn children. Particularly when very little has come out of the research that has already been done. The only reason, this is an issue is because the left wants to lock in a reason, to why abortions should not only be performed, but that more of them should take place.

Sure, by keeping us from using this technological advance, he has ensured that another country will make the break-throughs that this line of research could potentially harbor. Someone else will market it and we will have to pay extra for it, which helps in Bush's effort to destroy the American middle class.
