Zidane has mistaken, nobody deserve a danger headbutt whatever he could say.
I'm tired to hear words as "Italian dirty tricks ",.
Materazzi said things that in every match you can hear, probably Zidane heard that worlds many times, but this time he was too nervous and he lost control reacting in that bad manner.
Many people try to defend him, attacking Materazzi and Italian people, because Zidane was a great player, but it's not correct.
If it had been Materazzi to hit Zidane nobody would have spoken about provocation, like it happened for the split of Totti in euro 2004.
And I'm also tired to hear people speaking about racism, there is nothing about racism in this story. Probably the real racism is the continuous attack to the Italians.
A last thing, Materazzi is a rude palyer but Zidane is not a saint, in his carrier he had taken 14 red cards.

Yes,if you see the video not the raming, but little before it,matarazi holding Zidane around with hand like a courting pair,he deserves it, for provoking a good football player.

Of Course! Zidane was only 10 minutes away from his final match and Materrazi just wanted to get off the pitch so then the Italians could win! I presonally think red card to materrazi instead!

Absolutely not! because Materazzi just insulted Ziddane's sister, and such acting is very usual in football, if you are a great player and you think that you are , you mustnot get in such provoke. Zidane had to calm himself.

well i think that materrazi was abusing Zidane so he hurt him but in my opinion Zidane should have the talk with the referee.

Insulting mothers and sisters is not great.
His mother should have smacked him as though the comments was made about her.
Whilst neither ZZ nor Materrazi are saints (in a sometimes tough game) check out for yourself what Materrazi deserves in this great compilations of things he would rather his mother not see :-)

Even if what he did was stupid, I can understand why he did it. He wasn't the aggressor, he just reacted. When I played, I waited for the next play and tried to hurt the guy. On a play! The people who justifies the italian player because everybody does it are dumb. Just because everybody does it doesn't make it right. That's not fair play. You should try to stop a player with fair play.
