Umm, assuming you're in the UK and depending on how much you missed ...
Clark's girlfriend finally committed suicide (by pills) and he went on a bender - Sipowicz was called to an incident by other officers as Clark had caused a bit of bother in a bar. This was ironed out by Sipowicz but Clark stomped off as he wanted to have a walk...no doubt to another bar.
It was the boy's father who killed the mother (and not the stepfather) because he heard his son call his stepfather "Dad" and was worried he was losing him.
I think that's pretty much it, although I've a feeling I've forgotten something!

It depends where you live.Where i live Greg Medavoy left the job there and he and Sipowitz took a picture together........
