I'm from jakarta, Indonesia, and I have heard this, but it was said by one of the famous psychic here, so do you believe a psychic? I say just watch out and be careful.

Look at the map of Indonesia. If Jakarta is on sea shore there could 50 - 50 possibility of Tsunami effects as in recent past most of it are originated from Indonesia only. But the intensity of the under water earth quake the main point. For the quesstion WHEN? - the answer is "i don't know" - If it happens at my wish surely I will put a time schale and first it would have not hit Indonesia & Thailand. I would have diverted that to New York.

Unlike in the Pacific Ocean, there was no organized alert service covering the Indian Ocean. This was in part due to the absence of major tsunami events between 1883 (the Krakatoa eruption, which killed 36,000 people) and 2004. In light of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, UNESCO and other world bodies have called for a global tsunami monitoring system.

If it's gonna happen, maybe ure better off preparing an emergency plan instead of pondering when. Since it has happened so many times before, u can bet on it happening again.
It's like wondering when will u die. Don't worry, u will die like the rest of human beings who have died before us, just make sure ure prepared for it when it happens.
