Be careful not to get confused with IV as if the smaller number is first (1 then 5) then it means 5 -1.

The smaller number afterwards means add, so VI is six because of 5 + 1.

6= VI it is basically 5+1 V=5 I=1
4= IV it is basically 5-1 V=5 I=1
