Research the physics of martial arts, lika Karate board breaking and ninja jumping. Calculate force, velocity, and so on, to determine what the most effective way to break a board is.

A good intro would be disproving some of the hollywood fight scenes...

building a JELLO LASER would be cool, instructive and would fascinate your students, but i don't have a clue what it would cost.

Physicists friends SWEAR to me that this is possible. and that it would not take a Federal Grant to afford it. but they can't give me a good idea what it would cost.

Optics ( prisms, colored filters, interference patterns, polarized gels) are cool, but may be too simple for 12th grade.

Comparing how light combines to form colors vs how paints combine to form colors is fascinating, but again, may be way too simple for 12th grade.
