I have seen the movie but did not understand the last part..............(was the girl mental, the father or the film maker??)

It's about a little girl who witnessed her mother's suicide so her father takes her to the country to help her get over it. She creates an "imaginary friend" and death and destruction occur. I won't tell you the ending but I will tell you it is one heck of a twist!!

Actually, the father is the mental one. "Charlie which was the little girls so called imaginary friend, was actually her father, who was not aware that he had a split personality." The girl was terrified throughout the show but she made sure she was always nice to her father because she didn't know when he would change into Charlie. I was confused about the movie at first because I thought the little girl was causing the killings but what a twist at the end.

Deniro caught his wife cheating on him, went crazy, and he killed her. Dakota Fanning saw this and was taken to the country to get away from the murder scene. Deniro, still crazy formed a split personality called charlie who liked to play hide and seek with Dakota. During that time Deniro killed people. Finally the shrink shows up to find Deniro crazy. At the end the shrink takes Dakota with her only Fanning has gone nuts too. The end. Sequel coming.

Charlie is the friend of the little girl.... mean while charlie is her farthers slipt personality... The old man is a skitzo, and he didnt even know..

AN AFFAIR SO HE DEVELOPED HIS OTHER
