Was I out of line ? She was from another company. She didn't ask for it but as I'd visited her house in the Hamptoms it seemed like a good idea. She was offended was I out of line ? Others were present the press and others. Was I out of line ?

Of course you were out of line. Today you can not just go around touching other people in anyway. Hasn't anyone taught you that? I mean just look at our world today, they took a "blue dress" with just a small stain, and tried to kick a President out of the WH, can you just imagine what they would do if they caught Bush with his hands on another woman? hehehehe

Maybe the neck rub would have been great idea for some people, others may have a "no touchy in public" policy. If you visited in the Hampton's , was she "friendly" there. Remember that Everyone has that space thing around them, and the closer you are to someone, the closer they will let you into their space, if your not that close the space around them is bigger and you can tell, when you approach people. (Some will back up, or cross their arms or legs, to signal your getting too close) She may not realize that it was just a friendly gesture from you and an apology for crossing that space would be in order. This question rubs me the wrong way. Were you using your hands on experience to better relations with other employees? The Hamptons is high rent territory. Did you offer her a Long Island iced tea?

dude, be honest, the reason you "offered" was so you could get the ball rolling toward a romp in the proverbial hay. men don't offer anything unless it is to be a "means to an end". she knew that, we all do.next time just be honest, say you want to jump in the sack. she'll either smack your face or go for it!

Absolutely.
Keep your professional and personal lives separate. "Friendships", even non-sexual ones, have no place being flaunted in front of rival companies and the press.
