You can meet some nice people online. If you're talking about dating sites, the sites are a bit like bars - full of members of the opposite sex, some of whom are attractive, some not. Where the dating site is better than the bar is that everyone in there is looking for a relationship.
Just make sure that before you meet them in person you have got to know them a little more thoroughly, through phone calls or letters. Don't arrange to meet someone you only know from late-night drunken online messaging. I'm not thinking of the danger aspect as much as the chances that you'll have nothing to talk about and that if the other person is unattractive, as they may well be, you won't have got into their personality enough to make the meeting enjoyable.

online relationships are as safe as you want them to be, you cant be hurt on the end of a computer(unless someone throws it at you that is), its when you take the next step and consider meeting someone. However, this is no different to meeting someone in the pub on a saturday night. So long as you take reasonable precautions to stay safe, ie. tell someone where you are going when youll be back etc you'll have a great experience.

Why not? If you find someone yoiur compatible with then, you should carry on as long as you both please. howver don't stay on-line forever - you need to meet, need to have new experiences and goals. Keep it fresh. I'm sure things will get better when you meet as you will then know eachothers mannorisms etc. Butenjoy, just cause you met on-line, doesn't mean you can't be happy in normal life together.

As long as you feel like it is a safe relationship, of course. I'm moved from Kansas to Italy to live with a man serving in the Navy whom I met online. I'm getting ready to move back to Kansas in a couple weeks...with him.

If the relationship is good and you both like and respect each other, why not? Many long-term relationships and marriage start this way now.

my best friend's older brother met his wife online. so you never know. and she met her current boyfriend online and they are happy. as long as you think it'll will work out, then go for it. just make sure the person is who they say they are. it may turn out to be a great thing in the end!

If it's getting sexual, be on guard. Girls, especially, get burnt. Most guys online who are interested in sexual relationships are mere predators. Don't lose guard babe.

There are some fantastic success stories but they are very very insignificant in numbers. Take care.
