You lost your sovereignity, not your people, and not your land, and not your religion.
You can see everywhere what happens when you try to fight back by arms, it is not working.
They always have more resources.
So what can you do, improve quality of living in your region, make schools, learn your children tradition and language, make more children, time will pass, and your nation will survive, and governments and political systems come and go.
If you can and there is a chance go back , do not incite marches and protest, it will go wrong,.
Try to make a strong local economy, pay taxes, grow more children, improve, educate, believe.
China current regime does still not have a 100 years of life, what will happen in next 50 , 100, everything.
With war, military solutions you loose everything, with smart thinkging you gain everything.

There are several different ethnic groups who want to separate from the People's Republic of China, most notably the Uighur. If I were you, and if you are serious about getting your country back I would Allie myself with other ethnic groups who want to separate from the People's Republic of China. If all of you work together and form a united front it is possible.
