gun control is all about control, not guns. It was clearly the intent of the framers of the constitution to keep the citizens armed. This practice has already saved America from three invadsions, those being the revolutionary war, war of 1812, and WWII. The Japanese wanted to invade after pearl harbor, but it was decided against when they realized that there would be a gun "behind every blade of grass."
Also history has consistently shown that governments that are concerned primarily with disarming citizens, also attempt to control it's citizens.

I think that guns should be controlled like cars, you have to take a safety course before you get a license to purchase them. There would be special tabs for rifles, shotguns, handguns, and for concealed carry. But if you show yourself to be sane and responsible then get what you want.
