A simple explanation would be: Every time a decision is to be made (not only in the government but everywhere throughout the structure of society) it must follow a discussion without prejudice. So every decision would be accepted by all parties involved.
Every time we enforce our opinion onto others, we are a step closer to oligarchy or even dictatorship.

Real democracy can only thrive in educated societies. And by education I mean the kind that challenges your mind, your believes etc. It's the kind that makes your gray cells in the brain move..... . Not the kind that just gives us knowledge for our jobs and careers.

The point of democracies is that you DONT expect them to do something for you... if you want to expect something to be done FOR YOU, then go to a communist country. Democracies are great because it gives a chance for people to go from making no money to making a ton of money. Everyone can make a life for themselves in a democracy. There is just competition, and it takes skill and determination to get to the top of the competition.

Democracy gives you freedom to choose your work and earn income. If you have income, pay taxes to the government. In return the government will build roads and bridges where you have the choice where to go and party. In democracy, there is freedom.

My democratic government forces us to register our names, personal data or our pre-paid mobile phones services will be severed; they of course expects us to pay income taxes every year so that they can continue with white elephant projects in order to continue the culture of corruption.

I on my part contribute to a democratic society by NOT engaging in any unlawful activity detrimental to peace and harmony.

It is the same thing with take and give. But it is stonger when we change to 'give and take'. And you will feel different and strongest when it is just only 'give'.
