About $25.00 for 1.76 oz (50 g)

You can find MEDERMA® in the first aid or skin care section of drug stores nationwide and all of the retail chains below.

CVS
Brooks/Eckerd
RiteAid
Target
Walgreens
Wal-Mart
and other leading retail stores

Read the ingredients and then read what I wrote below that.

Mederma Ingredients:
Water (purified), PEG-4, Allium Cepa (Onion) Bulb Extract, Xanthan Gum, Allantoin, Fragrance, Methylparaben, Sorbic Acid.

My inexpensive solution

To soften or prevent a scar, I use a piece of onion (yellow onion is best) longer than the wound/scar and tape it in place. For wounds, I change it 3 times a day until healed. For scar, taping it on over night and repeating nightly will soften the scar and you won't be out a lot of money.

The onion will relieve pain from the wound, clean the wound, prevent infection, and if infection is already present, help cure it.

I got bit by a brown recluse spider and along with the antibiotics, I used the onion treatment. You can't see the scar unless I point it out. It feels like baby skin at that spot.
