It's really sad. That girl isn't nearly old enough to be thinking about sex. She's not even old enough to support this child, she can't even get a job to support this child. This pregnancy is going to take a heavy toll on her body because she's too young to be pregnant. Her body hasn't fully matured to handle carrying a child, not to mention her mental maturity. It's really sad and it makes me think that her mother didn't even take the time to tell her child about sex and pregnancy.

I wasnt thinking of sex at 11 either! I didnt even start my periods at 11!(ok, you didnt need to know that but what the hell...)I was more interested in punching guys that even so much as kissing them! To be honest I think that it's because theres so much hype about sex, even adverts are using sex to sell their products. Its everywhere! Sex sells! I dont think it helps when you do sex education years later(towards the end of school). It should be approached earlier to try and prevent things like this from happening. Underage sex is becoming the norm, and slightly older kids take the mick out of virgins... I remember when I was 15 and some girl in the toilet said "I wouldnt dare be a virgin at 14", best thing is, the girl she was talking to agreed! At the time I felt like a right idiot, but then realised how bad it sounded, and they were obviously slappers!

I think it's because sex is so pushed in our faces these days that kids are trying it out younger and younger. I wasn't thinking about sex at 11 either, but that was over 20 years ago. Times have changed and I can honestly say, not for the better.
I am a mother too, if I found out my daughter was pregnant, I'm afraid I would be making the choice for her and taking her straight to the hospital!!

Its not the children its the parents.

if a dog bites someone we blame the owner it should be the same with parents if the child does something wrong then where were the parents? what had the parents taught the child?

At 11 I was in home or at friends houses and my parents knew where I was I was NOT out drinking and having unprotected sex.

Its is a parents duty to keep their children safe and teach them about all the dangers in life including unprotected sex.

I agree that kids are maturing to quick these days ! i think it is the parents responsibility to luk after the children and try to prevent this happening 11 years old there was a time when it was bad when a girl of 16 got preganant but 11 she's the same age as my neice its scary.

I think it is quite worryin to be honest. For a start she would not be completely emotionally or physically ready to have a child. Children need to know the options out there from contraception to careers. I read a report the other day about how teenage girls are deliberately planning to have children as an easy option in life! Take away the benefits I say!

I think she wasn't taught what kind of situations lead up 2 sex. and some young girls are so unhappy and feel so unloved that they want a baby because they think a child will love them unconditionally, others think a baby is a ticket 2 a free council house when that is not the case. whatever the reasons, i think 11yrs old is way 2 young 2 have a baby, it takes maturity and responsability, these girls are just children themselves. it's tradgic, 4 the girl and the baby.

Ok first thing she should be reading her books not jumping into a boys pants, secondly due to her situation it can be understandable, and the goverment should help children like these, and her mama should be ashamed because she's not helping her child it's probably made her want to feel love and she just happend to find it in the boys/man arms it s a raw deal really.

Didn't hear about this; who the heck was she doing it with?

That's just craziness; at 11 i was .......... well i cant remember what i was into........... but it wasn't having a quicky behind the wendyhouse thats for sure.

What happens there with the pregnancy; can she hold a baby to term or is is an enforced termination on health grounds?

I wasn't thinking like that at 11 either.

I've read about it in a magazine and its a disgusting story... her and her borther and sisters are living in squalor with a drug addict mother... the girl is smoking resting her ashtray on her pregnant tum... and social services are taking no action.

Being brought up like that perhaps its no surprise, but what a sorry tale it really is..

harsh answer, but she should be shoot. then closely followed by the parents. No 11 year old child can look after a child. you don't hire a 11 year old babysitter. just stupid. like asking a fat man to look after your pie. think kids today need a little more common sense.
