I just got back from Cairo July 4th and I can tell you it was the best trip I have ever taken. Everyone was so nice. I met alot of friends there whom I will never forget. I had shesha....Loved it... LOL. I cannot remember the last time that I walked down the street in the states and every single person I met had a warm smile and a friendly hello. But everyone in Egypt did. I have the up most respect for the Egyptian people. I stayed at Pharaoh Egypt Hotel...great staff. I have to say I was very disappointed with the American Embassy when I went to get my non objective statement so I could marry my husband....but that's another story lol.

Egypt is gorgeous, much greener and more colorful than I thought. The ancient sites are awe inspiring. The culture is deep, and the people are so generous, warm and inviting.
There are a lot of weird practices like turning off the headlights at night on the road home from safaga (out of consideration of the others eyes @) AND the weird tourist caravans geeeeez and the driving is WHEWWWWW breathtaking especially in Cairo.
I can't wait to come back.

depends on which part you are asking about. I have been to sharm el sheihk twice for relaxing bech holidays and have loved it each time. Great weather, hotel standards are amazing, locals are very friendly and welcoming and the main resort of Naama Bay has just enough to keep you entertained but hasn't quite got that lager lout image...just yet! Lets hope it never gets it. You can do day tours to Cairo but is hell of a long day

I have only seen Cairo and a bit of Hurgadha and El Gouna.
El Gouna was artificial heaven for me, I prefer Cairo with all of her contradictions. Met allot of heart felt lovely people and a new love.
It will always be a magical country. X
