I think it's fantastic! There are so many good references to Solomon and very few that are negative. Though King Solomon was known primarily for his wisdom, the name also contains "Sol" for sun (warmth and brightness)... and "Solo" which may seem lonely, but it also gives a sense of strength and uniqueness.

Definitely consider Solomon.

What do you want to call your child.... Solomon or silly Celebrity names like Apple, Moon bean, Coco... need I go on...

If you went on to test if people like Solomon... even if you didn't want to use the name in the first place... shame on you!

Name your child with a meaning... nothing wrong with Bible names.... David, John, Paul, Matthew, Mark..etc.... will be use forever!

It's an ancient name........
A child would have to live up to it.
Tall order these days.
I like it, but I know the Biblical story.
Perhaps a more modern name would be better.
That's if you're asking because you want to name a baby Solomon?

Don't listen to these people. My friend's name is Solomon, and NOBODY makes fun of his name. Go for it

Aside from being the name of the Son of David, I know one other person with that name and it doesn't feel or seem unusual (but I may be used to it). I think its a nice name though, but we do call him by his full name. He must have never came up with a short nickname.

It's a fabulous name. And shortened to Sol it's even better. It's unusual and strong. Go for it!

ps: don't do Jack or Joshua unless you want every other kid in the playground to come running when you call him!
