Sunburn usually peels off but for the past year or so, I got sunburn twice and both times my skin didn't start peeling. I didn't use any type of lubricant or anything, it just doesn't peel. Is there something wrong?

No there is nothing wrong, but for goodness sake use sun protection cream or you will end up a wrinkly old hag with skin cancer.

Saying... SUNBURN... really bothers me! would you put your finger in a fire until it got red and blistered? I am a fair skinned blonde from the UK now living in Spain, I have achieved a nice glow since living here, but to be honest I did not work so hard to retire to Spain with the plan of getting skin cancer!!!

It does not even matter so much where you live in the world nowadays, the ozone layer is depleting (and there is an answer for another day!!!) Coat yourself in the highest factor you can find, use aftersun or moisturiser every night, exfoliate once a week, you WILL tan, a lovely healthy glow that looks amazingly sexy. Do not try to burn... nothing sexy about a body blistering with patches of dead skin and red blotches all over!!!
If you are concerned about the condition of your skin, especially having been in the sun for extended periods, consult a doctor or a dermitologist, they will put you right.

happy, sun BATHING, not sun BURNING!!!

No you dont always peel when you burn. You probably find that your skin is quite tanned so it is used to the degree of heat. I dont always peel, only if i have really overdone it. I havent peeled in a while. When i lived in South Africa i used to spend at least 5 hours in the sun and would end up red and in two days i had gone brown and didnt peel. You are fine. Nothing to worry about.

Hey do use an effective sunscreen lotion. Apply it to the exposed parts of ur body b4 leaving home.. carry the lotion in ur handbag or something to re-apply it when u feel the hot sun. this prevents getting sunburns. But u hv already got few burns. For them what you have to do is, just apply moisturiser or a cold cream before you go to sleep. This softens ur skin wr u hv burns. Take care buddy

Nothing wrong. Be glad it hasn't peeled off. The burn probably didn't go deep enough for your skin to slough off. I recommend lots of aloe vera gel or lotion. These can be found in the tanning products section at any drug store. And protect yourself from sunburn. As you probably already know, this can cause premature aging, wrinkles, and worst of all; cancer.

Burning so badly that your skin peels off isn't good. You should always use sunscreen. Each burn you sustain in your lifetime increases your chance of developing skin cancer. What's wrong is that you aren't protecting yourself - START!

no it does not mean that there is something wrong, your skin just maybe thicker than usual, give it a few more days for it to peel, if nothing continues to happen consult your doctor, no sweat you will be grand!!
