Cheerleading is a sport. It is gymnastics combined with dance. They are both sports therefore cheerleading is. Some people dont class it as a sport because of the sterotypical view on cheerleaders. Usually they aren't like that and it is a hollywood myth.

Yes, cheerleading is definitely a sport. I'm The co-captain for my cheerleading squad at my local high school. I KNOW FOR A FACT IT IS HARDER THAN IT LOOKS! In any other sport you drop the ball and that's all you lose, in cheerleading you drop a girl that could be a life lost or a bone broken. Other athletes lift weights, cheerleaders lift athletes! We do alot of things that require us to be in perfect condition and on our toes at all times. Cheerleading takes alot of hard work, determination, long practices, and teamwork. You wake up at 6 am on your summer break, and you stay at a camp until 5 in the afternoon! You run bleachers and do crunches. It takes energy, and memorization.
By the way "Bring it On" was the worst movie ever made! Cheerleaders don't act like that. We are respectful, and we don't think we are better than you, and we are smart. I'm in all honors courses, and working for college credits in my junior year of high school.

I never knew a cheerleader who wasn't a skank, I'm not saying that all cheerleaders are skanks, but all the ones at my school were. Cheerleading, like ice skating and gymnastics, is not a sport. My reasoning for this is because it's judged and the judging is sooo not fair. I can say this because I was a gymnast. If you can lose because your bra strap was hanging out, it's not a sport. Do you think that lacrosse judges are looking for crap like that? I never got a yellow card because my kilt flipped up.

The only people who put down cheerleaders are people who aren't hot or likeable enough to be one. It's become a sport. Back in the day it was just rah, rah, but now it typically involves alot of gymnastics and athletic ability. Go do it.

Some people dont think it is a sport but others do. All i know is that there are hot girls and ugly girls wish they were cheerleaders. They are usually the popular girls with an attitude.

my daughter is a cheerleader she has so much fun with it
people only think that cheerleaders are ditzes because they are meant to be the jocks girls and will do anything to talk to them
but my daughter is nothing like that

Cheerleading is a sport. Cheerleaders acculy have to do alot of work. If you wanna be good you need to practice good.

It is a sport with hot girlls but I dont reaaly like it because u are doing it for other sports and people dont care about u(just hot girls)

I stopped following when I found out you could get uniforms over size 8
