I had a Modified Pomeroy tubal ligation in 1998. I was in a very abusive relationship and actually never seen away out. Well I finally got out and I have met the man of my dreams and he is 32yrs. old no children and we would like to have this procedure reversed and have a child together. We get along so great, it's like Im in heaven, he treats me so wonderfull but now here I am with my tubes tied and it cost so much to get it reversed that we dont no how to go about it or to even approach the right people. Somebody please, please help me out with this. My life is so great now finally, no more getting beat on, no more mental abuse, its all great now. If we can only find a was to get this reversal done so we can have our own child together it would make it all so, so sweet. Thank you all for your help. Moon_41

The first thought that crossed my mind is: "If you can't afford to have a reversal, how are you going to afford a child for the next 18, probably longer, years?" Sounds harsh, huh? Sorry, but it takes a lot of money to raise a child these days and perhaps you should wait to have a baby when you're more financially stable. It doesn't even sound like you're married to this great guy yet. Are you?

I don't consider this nasty. It's an opinion. You wrote a very rude response on one of my questions, which was unwarranted. I would think a woman of your advanced age would be far more mature. Furthermore, your bio says that you have a "great young boyfriend" so how am I to know that you're married. Were you married in the last four months? I doubt it. So, let's agree to disagree, and steer clear of each other. We obviously don't see eye-to-eye.
Just for the record, the question that I posed was merely one to evoke thought amongst parents.

I like your self was in a very abusive relationship and i'm sorry. and 2nd i think that you should keep looking for what you need I too am looking for some how to get my tubes untied without all of the expensive costs. I signed up for health insurance through my place of employment and asked the question but i'm still waiting for an answer. If you find anything out please let me know .... Also don't let anyone who's miserable with their own lives give you any negative feed back don't listen to any of that, that is the last thing you need.....

Thanks

the reversal is the least expensive option... it should only cost about $5,000. IVF will cost nearly $10,000 per cycle (yeah, each month) the success rates with reversals are EXCELLENT. about the money... 401K loans, remortgage your home, small unsecured loan from bank or credit union. some doctors will let you do payment plans (but the total amount needs to be paid BEFORE the procedure)... where there is a will, there is a way!

Maybe y'all should save up to get the tubal ligation. If you're not married then you might need some extra time to figure out if it's going to work out for y'all. Nothing will tell you if you're meant to be together quicker than working toward a common goal. Good luck.
