The drug was intense and the trips varied. The amount of LSD in the hit or tab wasn't regulated. Basically you become intensely "aware" of whatever you are looking at, suddenly you see every detail as though for the first time and find each detail amazing. Your suddenly "connected" to life in a way that you feel as one with your surroundings. You can look at walls and they seem as though they are taking breaths. You can look in a mirror and watch as your face looks as though it is melting. Your feelings and emotions are larger than life and hopefully you are smart enough to set the stage before you drop a hit. Meaning, your in a safe place with people who won't try to mess with you. A good trip can go bad in a hurry. Your riding an intense wave of your emotions and sensations, if something like fear gets introduced into the mix you may end up freaking out for several hours until the drug is out of your system. People have gotten stuck in sadness or a feeling of guilt and actually harmed themselves.

The questions hsould be aimed mainly at people born in 50's (late teens or early twenties in 60's - 70's).
I did acid once. It was a cap, which is not a pill or capsule, but a piece of blotting paper soaked in LSD. I got a very low dosage so did not experience any hallucigenic effects, but merely had heighetened sensory experiences. Get the movie HAIR if you want to see how Hollywood depicts and LSD trip.

That was before my time, but I remember one of my grandmother's neighbors would sit outside his parents' house under a tree, wearing an aluminum foil hat and screaming at passing cars. It was said that he had a really bad acid trip. I don't know if that was a scare tactic to keep us from trying drugs or if it was true. Either way, it was very effective.

I never did or knew anyone who did LSD. Most people I knew stayed away from it. Thus, not everyone was using LSD. Ask people who went to Woodstock (1969) and you can get a rundown of all the drugs that were taken then...pot, hash, etc.

I was of the era, but the drug scene wasn't my thing! And still isn't! So, not everyone was using LSD - I'm told that crack is a 1000 times more addictive and meth makes crack look like candy - does this tell you where drugs have been and where they are going?

I actually had some once by accident. I was stoned on grass and somone said, "try this". It looked like a tiny piece of colored cellophane (green, I think) I was high for what felt like 2 minutes, but when I was finally aware of things, 6 hours had passed. I don't remember anything about it though, except my smokin' buddies called it windowpane.

I've did acid several times. I can in no way describe in the limited space available the other worldly trips I took.

I never did LSD because I did not want to even "tempt" what the consquences would be....I knew of one person who ended up in a veggie state in the hospital. Last I heard, he was still there.
