Because you are not there with him to signal to other women that he is taken--or he doesn't tell them that. He is alone and women find him attractive, so they either throw themselves at him (pretty desperate in my opinion) or hit on him or flirt. The question you should be asking isn't why do the women do this--because that is normal-- but what does your boyfriend do when it happens? Does he like the attention? Does he tell them he is seeing someone? Is he sending out some signal for women to approach him? Just something to think about.

1. He's foreign. I can't speak for women all over the world, but this does it for me.
2. He's a student, so maybe he's smart. I like that, too.
3. He's taken. Doesn't work for me, but subconsciously makes some guys more attractive to some women.
4. From what I understand about Europeans generally (and in my experience with some Spaniards), Europeans are much more open about what they want from another person. Fewer games like the ones we play here. So, they're probably attracted to the same things as you are about him, but feel more open to say so.
5. He's telling you about all of this explicitly? He might be inflating the number or attractiveness of the women, either because he thinks you don't find him attractive and he's trying to drop you a hint, or because it makes him feel good about himself and he's telling everyone about it.

Well, you should not worry about the women, only about your boyfriend.
Let them throw themselves as they wish - if he loves you truly, he will never give in. Find yourself other things to worry about.
People are all kinds - liberal ones and more conscientious ones - this thing is beyond your control.
Probably those girls don't know that he has a girlfriend at home - unless he tells them! Sometimes guys like to enjoy sympathy and they tell it only later - let him have some fun... and you can have, too... ask him next time "So, what is the score for the week, Honey... how many hearts did you break for me this time?"
:)
Cheer up!

Why are you asking this stupid question? You even realize how lame you are asking it by stating "My boyfriend did not pay me to write this" as your opening. Who cares. It all comes down to whether or not you trust HIM. Living in 2 cities is hard enough let alone 2 countries - you have to decide if that's how you want your relationship to be. Get a hobby.

Kill 'em. LOL! j/k
He's most likely told them he's already taken, And to a lot of women, (and some men) that presents more of a challenge just to see if they can get his mind (and his loyalty) off of you.
But if your BF is pretty secure (and you too) in your relationship, then you've got nothing to worry about.
No one can take anything from you that dosen't want to be taken.

Dude, show us a picture, lol
Welp, I'm going through the same thing w/ woman in the US. One girl, after having met me a few times, said to my b/f "You know, she's really tiny, I can't image she can take control in the bedroom. I have absolutly no problem w/ that, though."
Others have tried to call me names b/c he wouldn't date them.
Woman are catty. They love to see who can get what guy. It's a game, babe. Who's the alpha-female, you know. Woman are territorial and seek to gain respect and move up the ladder, too.
Politics, baby!

What do you mean by "international student?" if your boyfriend is black, then definately in Europe he will get many ladies wishing to lay him.

Probably because he's attractive himself. This can be hard on you but it is a good test of how committed he is to your relationship.

they're thinking: See pretty boy, throw self at pretty boy. But when they hear that pretty boy has a girlfriend (I hope they do)
They should leave pretty boy alone. And get another exotic pretty boy without a girlfriend.
