my face is a square shape and I would really like to play that down. I am also looking for a good contouring color if anyone has any ideas. I am a very light complected person. My skin is either the lightest or second lightest in most makeups. THANX IN ADVANCE!

I would try a light bronze mineral powder around the jawline..(Neutrogena have a new line of mineral bronze powders & very affordable) but the real trick is having a good brush and used it to blend, blend, blend all the way under your jaw...you don't wanna see a line of product on your skin line also when you're using a foundation. Celebrate the shape of your face...that's what make you unique & beautiful

It often makes sense to use your blush color as a contour color- for a square jaw dont sweep blush upward, use the apple technique. Smile at the mirror and use blush on the raised part of the cheeks. Then a quick swipe on the jaw bone on either side should do the trick. If you want something more complicated try two part blushes such as:

First a square shaped face is not that common and i think is really stunning!!

*If you feel uncomfortable with the shape of your jaw line pick a feature to play up instead of trying to mess with shadows and highlights.

*The most simple way to play it down would be applying blush to the apples of your cheeks. Don't apply the blush in an upright motion because that will accent your jaw and make your face look even more square.

*By applying the blush this way you will create a soft look and it will bring more of a focus to the apples that are round instead of the jaw line.

*You could also play up your lips. ex: a glossy lip.

Good luck and have fun!

Dont think of it as playing down your features, thats what makes you, you.
But, if you want to soften it up a little use a big fluffy brush and work on your jaw line with a darker color, but not too dark. You'll know what looks best. Start at your ear and come down some.
Make sure to blend it very well because you never want to see a makeup line there, then it doesn't look natural.
