Depends on the nuts but squirrels tend not to overload while hamster although they are smaller tend to stuff their cheeks.
This is because originally hamsters are desert animals and struggle for food.
Squirrels are forest animals and just need to transport 1 nut at a time.

A squirrel would hold as many nuts as a squirrel could hold and a hamster would hold as many nuts as a hamster could hold but a hamster would hold less.

a hamster can hold more and a squirell can hold anywhere between 3-5, perhaps more but it depends on the size of nut.

Have no idea but U have seen a squirrel stuuf his mouth so full
of peanut butter that it was running down his chin. Watch a squirrel harvvest pine cones sometime. Very entertaining.

the squirl is bigger and i've seen them get as many depending on how big they are over 15 in their mouths.
