Often clouds are more prevalent on certain nights than others because of external light sources, such as the Moon.

On a full moon night, any clouds in the sky will be enhanced visually, because of the Moon's reflected light shining through.

Other possibilities include large factories, or events, that could be increasing the amount of light in the sky.

The moon disappears and reappears in cycles of 1 month.. so on days that the moon is out, you will see the clouds. However, when it is a new moon or close to a new moon you will not see the clouds.
