yes i have. i was 23 and had a five year old and a one month old and it was almost winter. I broke into an abandoned house and stayed there for eight months with no windows or anything. But we made it out finally. I was also homeless when I was getting off alcohol and drugs and the drug dealers would not let me stay anymore unless >>>well you know. so I left. I am very thankful of my home and all my possessions now. I try to help anyone I can now and I get so angry when I hear people say all homeless choose to be that way .

Well, I have always had a place to stay but had to live at my dad's work for two years after I left a boyfriend. I had a restroom, microwave, fridge, bed, but no shower. I had to go to my gym a lot.
It is said that we are all one or two paychecks away from being homeless, and that may be true seeing as how people don't save money much anymore.
I had a friend who got evicted and I let him stay in my storage in the carport at night and use the house during the day, but he was addicted to speed and not looking for a job. He would smoke in my house and do drugs even though I asked him not to, and I kept finding his porno tapes in my VCR. My boyfriend kicked him out when he moved in. This guy left a lot of crap at my house and never came back to get it. Last I heard, he still lives in his car and still doing drugs.

Yes I have been. It was about 15 years ago. My land lord had to sell the house we lived in at the time and I just happen to run a day care for a business. I had $2000.00 in my pocket to move with but couldn't find a place to go so my daughter and I ended up living in a motel for two months and then a freind finaly let us use her spare room. I ended up losing most of my business and had to start over by the time we finally found a place that didn't mind renting to an in home daycare. It was an interesting experience but I really don't want to do it again!

When I was five, my mom and dad split up. We lived with my grandmother for a month but that wasn't working out. So my mom and I spent about a year moving from hotel to hotel. My mom only got me out of the divorce, no money, no pictures, not a thing. My dad was really cruel about it, it took me till i was 7 to be comfortable with him again. It wasn't exactly homeless, but close enough that I have respect for people in that situation. I never refuse a pandhandler, even if it might be a scam, you just don't know!

Yes, I have, but I worked hard and long days to get a home. I haven't been homeless in over 20 years.

No. I have been lucky in having people around who have taken care of me during my harder times. If it weren't for them, I probably would have been homeless for a time. I recognize that and am generous to the homeless. It can happen to anyone.

Y yes..........At a time in my life when I thought I didn't need anyone, I was homeless (albeit for a couple of weeks).......It was the most humbling experience of my life and now being married and having children I am thankful every day for the blessings that have been bestowed upon me.......................

yes ,, and I did it on purpose to learn why the people of this country are homeless.
What I found is a mix, some are there because they chose to be like me.
Some are there because the system that has been created to help them dose not work.
some and at the time the minority were there because they lost there job and house.
It is a worl unto itself. and can be fun as well as the real Mean Streets.
