Yes. I predict it will happen someday.

Oh, absolutely. And I predict relatively soon. And high time.

Regrettably, I don't think the two most often mentioned for 2008--Condaleeza Rice and Hillary Clinton--are the best candidates, each for different reasons. But there has to be someone out there who is more courageous, thoughtful, and compassionate than the men most frequently mentioned these days.

I will always regret that Congresswoman Barbara Jordan of Texas (in the 1970s) was not the first woman and the first African American to hold the position. She was a standout among 20th century leaders, but regrettably her failing health and untimely death brought an end to what had been a brilliant career. And, unlike all the other recent presidents, she was also a dynamic orator, able to speak for and move American people on all sides of the political spectrum, as articulate as Martin Luther King, perhaps even more statesmanlike (to use an unfortunately sexist term). Somewhere there must be another Barbara Jordan just waiting to be discovered. And maybe she will introduce the term "stateswoman" to our daily vocabulary.

Bring her on! Soon!!

Anyone that is born in the USA can become president. Regardless of sex. I think someday there will be a female in the White House.

Yes and it will be a woman of color with a good education and smarts. (At the least she will be vice-president.) In any case, it will be a woman (any race) before a black man. (The black men have screwed up the positions of power they have held in the past. They have been forgiven for this, but their deeds have gone into the subconscious of the public, the public feels that these men cannot be trusted.)
