on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the worst how much does it hurt when you get your lip pierced?

Obviously it depends on the individual. When I had mine done (lower lip) I think the anxiety of the pain was worse than the actual pain. I squeezed the chair arms for dear life while the piercer put the needle through.

It was more pressure than anything. However, once he started lacing the hoop through it was agony.

And afterwards, it was very sore. It swelled, which was far worse than the actual experience.

So between all of it? I'd say about a 6. But like I stated before, it depends on the person.

Edit:
A piercing is *nothing* like biting your lip. The needle is sharp, and if you have a good piercer he/she is quick. Just like a blood draw... some people can hit the vein without your feeling anything. Teeth, on the other hand, don't penetrate the skin... so you hit nerves when you accidently chomp down, causing pain.

Well that would depend on your level for pain tolerance. I would guess about an 6 because no matter where it grabs you and pinches it will hurt for a second or two. I am also going by as far as pain goes that is not one of the most tender spots, so I have been told. I think we have all bit our lip before so I would assume its not too much worse that that.

it depends on how much pain you can tolerate.
for me it was about a 3.
nipples were a 5
neck was a 8
