my grandchildren decided to try to open it with a plastic bucket handle. it broke off and is now stuck in there. How do I get it out with out having to pull off the back panel of my car? I have a 97 Ford Escort.

if you can get a really small drill bit and drill into it, then just take it out! it shouldn't be that hard since your grandchild isn't really strong to force that in there! also try to use some WD40, that might help. if not then you have to have a locksmith do it!

If you cannot take the lock out yourself, you will need a locksmith. Sorry, but that's just the way it is. Murphy moved into your trunk!! Good luck!
