So they can imaging they're in Florida on vacation?

Because they don't make yard turkeys?

Hoping they'll breed and make money selling the offspring?

As pets for the yard gnomes?

Because you can call them by name and they're always glad to see you.

So they have something of value for others to steal?

I hope that you always have the means to live in a nice home, and never have to rent or own a mobile home.
The cost of housing is far beyond the means of many good hard working people in this country.
Every one who lives in a "trailer", mobile home, is not 'trash" as you so insultingly choose to call them.

And I doubt that all "trailer trash" may like, or have flamingos. Even so, this is still a free country and they have the right to choose, JUST AS YOU DO.
I don't live in a "trailer" but if I did, it would be because I had no other choice or, it would be "BY CHOICE, just as it is chosen by many people.

I presume that you also have many other "prejudices" against those who may be different or have less than you.

Don't you think that this world has enough prejudices?

There is no such thing as "trailer trash people" except in the minds of bigots. People like lawn gnomes, too, which are absolutely creepy to me, but that isn't the first thing I see....I see the people....the kind and wonderful people, regardless of where they live. Flamingos have been around longer than gnomes for the yard and they make a statement for the people, such as "I'm cool and I like pink birds. And...I'm an individual, live with it."

I LOVE those stupid things..... flamingos are soooo cute..... I don't think I'm trailer trash.... for my home costs about the same as 8 of thsoe trailers.... (depending on where you live) and i don't wear cut off jeans with cowboy boots.... or belly shirts. I have always wanted a flamingo in my yard but my husband would burn the thing if he saw it! I know its weird and ill probably never have one.... but i still think they are cute!!

it is a left over myth from the 60's. some people poor and rich just like flamingos either as a fad or by choice. and a lot of people had dreams of moving to Florida for their retirement.
just like the california craze for the same reason. life seamed beter there.

I like yard flamingos... I don't think that makes me trashy. but that wasn't your question. I don' think people who live in moblie homes like flamingos more than other folks. Perhaps you are spending too much time in the trailer park...

THAT's the thing you notice? That's like picking holes in the plot of a low-grade porn movie.

PS - I was trailer trash for a few years - so spare me the sensitivity speech. lol

PPS - I don't get your follow-up, but, hey, it's all good.

I've seen some nice houses with this unfortunate accessory in the front of their house too. I guess you can take a person out of the ghetto but you can't take the ghetto out of the person.
