Computer Engineering is a subcategory of IT.
Computer Engineering is the learning of Physical Assembly and functions of a computer. (Usually, this is hardware stuff).

Computer Engineers deal with how the computer hardware (and to an extent, software) function.. down to the design level. While IT is generally more computer usage, setup, etc.

Actually ..there's not much difference...In IT u'll learn only abt software where as In ComuterScience u'll learn a little bit of components with which the software works too.Electrical & Electronics ..

Computer engg contain both field it (i.e software ) as well as hardware also
but I.T contain only software That is major different

there are great areas of overlapping...like that gal that was asking what she can do with a degree in mathematics. I see CE as more hardware design, and IT as more software application but im sure others will correct me.

as far as the syllabus is concerned...the diffrence is only some subjects
bt while recriuting in n IT company........both branchec r considered the same ...
so dont worry if u get into any of these...both r nearly the same
