This room is in my new house i want to use it for my daughter when she comes over she is a young lady in college the room is 7x11 and has no closet. she has the living room area next to the room where i have set an extra book shelf and desk for studying what kind of furniture besides book shelf and dresser will be good for storing clothes and personal items and will not over crowde the room. I am planning to go to rooms to go with her so she can pick out the style of furniture she likes. I appreciate any ideas.

Try an armoir for storage of clothing, since there is no closet. I would also suggest getting a "platform" bed with drawers under it for additional storage. Both of these items come in a variety of styles and sizes to accomodate the small space.

I would use mirrors on one wall, they can be found at most stores such as Home Depot, come in a variety of styles and sizes and are easy to install. Using mirrors gives the room the "feel" of being much larger than it is.

I would also use "floating" shelves to hold decorative items, books etc. There are shelving units available to hold tv's and stero equipment as well. The more that you put on the wall, the "larger" the room will feel.

Baskets come in many styles and sizes as well, get some with lids, that can also be used to store items in. They can double as end tables, or seating, or a foot rest.

I know you and your daughter will have a wonderfull time decorating her room, have fun!!!!!!!!!!!

with a room that small, you may want to go with a futon couch which opens to a bed. you can buy a couple nice floor lamps to go beside the futon and a desk lamp. you can buy at home depot the t.v. wall mount units that you can mount on the wall or corners and put the t.v. up off the floor. you can buy a couplr of designer shelf boards in differant colors and lengths and widths along with the same colored wall mounting brackets. thats good for plants, stereo and other things.

I suggest tall streamlined furniture. something with drawers or shelves and a bar for hanging clothes. Clear plastic under bed storage bins might help too.
