Pehaps your resume needs some help. Be proactive. Don't just email your resume to people, make phone calls and talk to managers. Do research on the places you want to work and be ready to tell them why you'd be a good match for their company.

It is hard to give advise not knowing what you're applying for.

What type of position are you applying for? Also, are you including a cover letter? Finding out the name of the person in human resources or in charge of your particular area and adding it to the cover letter adds a personal touch. You may want to include an objective at the top of your resume. It isn't clear what job you want to get.

Example:

Objective: To join a/an (type of organization) allowing me to apply my (knowledge and skills)

or

Objective: A position as (job title) specializing in (specialty skills).

You can also try a skills list; have at least 5 skills and use active verbs (coordinate, market, edit, etc).

Best of luck.

Another idea: You can videotape yourself doing a practice job interview with a friend. It's a good way to catch bad habits such as fidgeting, avoiding eye contact, saying "um" a lot, etc.

As a hiring manger, I can tell you that your resume needs re-vamping. If it's too wordy, I think the person appears too boastful, and will talk too much at work.

I suggest that you spend a little money and have your resume re-done by a pro. It will be well worth the investment.

It's a difficult field to get into and to stay in. You may verge on the fine line of being overqualified...

The point is how you are selling yourself. Make sure your portfolio includes your best skills and capability and make sure that you tell them company how this will be beneficial to them and you.

something is speaking louder than your resume. Bathe shave, put on clean clothes and try it again... maybe it's a personal thing and not a bad resume.
