A diary is something you write in every day, recording all events that happen to you, without emotions. A journal is something that you write in to express your emotions, however, you don't have to write in it every day, only when something strikes you as particularly interesting or you feel a need to express yourself more.

A diary tells the juicy stuff u do. A journal tell about the whole day & what time it was done.

Diary is always personal, journal is more professional and academic.
That is why you have people called journalist. Journalist in ancient times were in fact people who record things by writing them down in a journal.
Also, diary is supposedly by written everyday, that is why the word "diary" is similary to the word "daily."

A diary usually consists mostly what you did on that particular day. A journal tells what you did, but it focuses more on how you feel about the things that you did....about the people in your day....life in general, etc. It is more than merely reciting what you did that day.

A diary is mainly described for girls. A diary usually has a lock. A journal is something u trun in to your teach. A journal expresses events and not feelings. I hav both. And theyre where no one can get them, in my head =)

Diary you usually write in daily..A journal is about a specific subject usually. Say like..school. A journal about school, you could write about your homework, friends, teachers, etc.

a diary is more for woman, a journal for men, a diary you write all your secret, personal thoughts, u get lost in it, a journal is more like a calander, to help u keep up with life
