Exactly the same but I find the action (i.e. the distance between the strings and the frett board) is lower on an electric guitar and that makes it a little easier to play.
If you are going to play a lot of rock tyoe music the electric guitar is the way to go and if you are not sure what you want to play get a semi-acoustic (i.e. acoustic and electric in 1 guitar), that covers all bases.

My son plays both, and one of the most striking things about the electric is that just touching the string makes a sound! If you're interested, you can go to a guitar shop and ask someone to demonstrate OR just walk around on a weekend when the shop is busy - you'll hear a lot of people play.
