The reason cheating exists is because people feel that they are missing out on something, that there is somebody better than what they currently have, and that there is no real commitment in the relationship.
The problem is they are not satisfied with the person they have and feel that they could do better. So, they do.
That is why marriage is the next step in a relationship. It is the time that real commitment begins. You have taken the time to explore all the other people and am satisfied that you are with the one person that you can spend the rest of your life with.
It is begining a real life together...bonding becoming stronger than the one.
It is starting a real life together, buying a house, raising a family.
That is life....so live it before you commit to somebody forever, but when you do...make sure they are as commited to you as you are to them and the cheating game will end.

If you love God first and most of all the way we're supposed to. When the newness of your marriage wears off, You will stay faithful to your spouse and not look for another thrill which is doomed to die off after awhile.
People cheat because they are unprincipled. When the going gets tough the weak get going - out with somebody else.
That is nothing like until death do us part. Take your time and choose the right person for your spouse. Understand that for better or for worse, you will get the worse at some point. Also your Spouse will get the worse at some point.
If we are honest with ourselves, there are times we don't want to live with ourselves. So how can marriage be so easy. But it is worth it and nobody forced you to take a vow. Have a little backbone and stay true to your vows.
{Disclaimer: noone should live in a dangerous envirement}
God Bless You, ;-)

That is a potentially huge question, which would need volumes to answer, but in summary I believe that infidelity stems from humans' genetic impetus to spread their own genes.
From a genetic, survival of the fittest, point of view, it is in the interest of males to father children by multiple females and for females to have children by several different males - by not putting all ones eggs in the same genetic basket (if you'll forgive the analogy), you stand a better chance of some of your offspring surviving and reproducing themselves - which is the sole 'motive' of genes.
However, offspring's chances of survival are also vastly improved if they have two parents available to nurture, protect and provide for them - which is what provides the motivation for stable family living.
Very recently, on the genetic timescale, contraception has given the ability to have sex without the motive, or risk, of reproduction - as well as a reduced risk of disease. This has had the effect of making the consequences of casual sex negligible, and may well have reduced the moral burden of extra-marital sex at the society level.
The fact that infidelity seems to be such a common phenomenon would suggest that the instinctive genetic urges, the 'grass is greener on the other side of the fence' phenomenon and, possibly; the thrill of being 'naughty' often overcome the strictures of social morals, fear of disease, and obligation to potential progeny.
I hope this helps.

I think some people like the new spark and attention they get from a new lover/fling. Makes them feel desirable and wanted in only a new relationship can give kind of way. The early days of lust. I think that can be had in a long time relationship too, just have to work at it. I think most flings are about the person being lonely. Whether it is justified or not (the loneliness).

Because some of us don't have morals and ethics, If a current relationship doesn't work, one needs to get out of it, U don't use that as an excuse for two timing. And another reason maybe that some people just don't have the nerves to breakup with the current person in their life, so when they find someone they like better, they just go for it.

"The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence."

Meaning it can be a matter of perspective, what you have versus what is just out of reach, what you covet. More often on checking it out it is disappointing. The why is personal for each "cheater". Sometimes part of their excuse is legitimate like abuse ,having a shoulder to cry on. Being vulnerable it can happen ,but it always hurts somebody. Thinking it through with ones brain it would happen less. I have no solid answers but feel it is never an excuse nothing that intimate "just happens". One has to allow it just say no. ~A~

when someone cheats on somebody else, its a sign that the person they are currently in a relationship in with is eather not as attractive or not what the person cheating is looking for. Very rarely does the person cheating actually like the person they are cheating with for who they are. Hope that helped

Its this simple stop trying to analize it and think for a sec.
Who ever can grab one apple off of a tree and eat it for their intire life...is some one speacil, who can commit.
We all look at that tree and wonder what those other apples will taste like.
If you have a choice of different kinds of soda you will at first pick one up and taste it, if you savor that cup of soda for your entire life, you can commit! Yet if you wonder what those other sodas taste like, and go ahead and taste them....then you can cheat!
It all depends if you choice the best! All men and women will have that doubt in there mind "Is he or she the best for me" and if they say yes.
They will planet the seeds of that apple, or buy a liter of soda instead of cup! ;)

Evolution has wired in our brains that we (males) want to spread our genetic material to as many females as possible, thus making sure our genes get passed on.
Evolution has wired girls to make sure that the kids they birth have the best opportunities to survive and spread their DNA in life (hence they go for either rich guys, pretty guys which means pretty kids, or rebellious guys who are generally alpha males and leaders of the pack).
