What is science if not taking a theory and trying to either prove or disprove it? What are your thoughts? Question of the night. For those of you who automatically say that it is not a Science why not consider the fact that NO ONE knows EVERYTHING and open your minds a bit and think before answering. Argue the point with yourself before jotting anything down. The reason I say this is earlier I read a response that someone made that was short and convinced on a subject that is really difficult to be convinced in unless you are driving to be convinced by witnessing repeated paranormal activity. So...what do you say?

So to those that believe that ghosts and paranormal do not exist are also saying that God himself does not exist nore does your love for another or another love for you because it cannot be replicated.

i believe that investigations into the paranormal can be done using the scientific method.
observation, hypothesis, test, replication
in the paranormal, replication seems to be the tricky part.
and i want to believe in ESP and precog.

No, it's not a science - it's a pseudoscience.
It doesn't qualify as a science because it doesn't use empirical evidence as the foundation for learning about things. A "science" isn't just studying something - it's studying that something empirically. Using physical evidence to support or falsify your claims.
And yes, that means you have to have repeateable experiments or observations that are open to the scrutiny of others. All sciences are like that, every last one of them. That's why science works.
Of course, if you don't have repeateable physical evidence, that doesn't necessarily mean that you're wrong. It just means that nobody in their right mind will believe you - and for good reason. It's pretty easy to make stuff up, and a lot of people do so (and not necessarily on purpose).
The best way to learn about the universe is to make sure you're not wasting your time on things that are just plain wrong. And the best way to do that is to have an evidentiary standard. After all, if you can actually prove an idea, then it's almost certainly not *completely* wrong (although it may later be found to be somewhat misguided, like newton's theory of gravity).

EVERYTHING that deals with the Paranormal is just a bamboozle which can easily be proved fake. Science is meant to debunk theories in search for truth? Sure, but what you deem to be science is none other than Scooby-Doo-end-like theory debunking. Producing the mask, the hidden string or the disguise does not involve a great deal of science.
All things paranormal can be explained quite easily. Refusing to study the paranormal does not reveal a narrow mind. It's just that those fooltraps trap precisely that, fools.

yes it is a science. i think the idea of paranormal investigations right now it to "prove" that some places have hauntings attached to them. I've herd too many stories about the paranormal to excuse it's existance. Also there's a show called Ghost Hunters on Sci Fi channel. They do a great job of investigating. here's there website if you want to see what equipment they use, evidence, ect.

virtually something could be investigated scientifically. besides the undeniable fact that, a great distinction is many times made between tricky technology (which would be replicated in self sustaining labs) and gentle technology with little if any tricky info. Duke college (J.B. Rhine) achieved substantial examine in ESP.

Paranormal activity has been rigorously investigated by scientists over the years. It's bunk.
