The two are completely different subjects, IMHO. My first husband committed suicide, and therefore took his own life. Abortion is taking another life - whether your beliefs are that a fetus is a "life" yet or not.
I do believe that suicide happens because of many reasons, the two that come to mind first are mental health problems (ie Bipolar, Depression, etc) and desperation.
I believe that abortion happens for many reasons, too, although not the same reasons. There isn't enough room here to list these reasons, but a couple would be a case of rape, unplanned pregnancy where the mother knows she would not be able to care for a baby, financial considerations, and tragically, a form of birth control for some.
However, I don't think you can answer that question because they are two different situations. One is a person choosing to take their own life - the other choosing to take an unborn child's life.

you can believe whatever you want. if others think it is hypocritical then so be it...they are not living your life. However as far as suicide goes... it is not the answer. notice i said that they are not LIVING your life.... living being the operative word.
please read the following and call them if you need to.

I never thought of that. Thats actually a good question. I think that if a person does'nt believe in abortion but ends up comitting suicide then yes, they are being hypocritical.

Do you mean assisted suicide?
I think they are mutually exclusive. It is hard to compare the forceful taking of an innocent life with somebody choosing to take their own life. It is the same if you compared it to capital punishment.

Yes, you always have a right to decide your own fate. Millions of so called pro-lifers support indiscriminate killing in Iraq so where is the contradiction?

Doubtful they are both the same. Don't you think? Aborting a live fetus is the same as killing it as the same as destoying yourself in Suicide! Both are problems created by society!

I think you could come up with a bunch of different answers because it is just a matter of how you view both subjects. So, yeah, I think you could.

They both are the issue of life being sacred.
Each life - born, unborn, desparate, is of immeasurable value.
