I am astounded at the statistics provided here.
I know in my personal experience... I homeschool my children... so my "group" is very diverse and from all religions, parts of the world..etc..and I can say that out of our group (not a very broad study , I know..but still...) we have maybe 100 families..and most married right out of high school..we have only 3-5 that are on 2nd marriages and 2 are from early widowhood and remarried. So of my own peer group (is it still a "peer group" if Im almost 40? ) just about everyone who married young is still married to their 1st spouse.

I truly believe its a mindset. If young married couples hang around people who have divorced..its more readily accepted so divorce rates are higher. If people want their marriages to last..they need to try to surround themselves with successful couples. That way you have support not the "oh no! leave that sorry so and so..etc."

Married 20 + years to my high school sweetheart and going strong.

Best wishes.

I don't know the statistics, but, I married my high school sweetie, in total I have been with him for 11 years and married 3 of those years. We have a 7mo old together. We grew in different directions but closer together. I waited for him to grad college before we got married. It was impt. for him and myself to expierence things before we got married so we waited until after he got his diploma. Things for us are very happy and wonderful.
Good luck to all the HS sweeties out there! :)

if you marry young divorce rate of 85%
if you marry in your late 20s divorce rate of 55 or worse %
if you marry late 30s, 50 to 55% divorce rate
on your 40s it drops down to about 40%

if neither one have you have ever had any other Gf / BF then you divorce at a much higher rate all accross the board due to lack of social experiance in dating and in a sense immaturity

i dont know the statistics as far as exact numbers but i know they are extremely low for survival..

I can tell u i got married 2 weeks after i turned 18 to my H.S. sweet heart.. he was 19.. we had 2 kids.. and by 23 he left me for another woman , divorced me.. and barely ever see's our kids and pays child support when its convient for him.. so be prepared..

may end up in divorce and may part ways from growing in different directions.
