The word might be listed on unabridged dictionary, but I do not have the one now, so would anyone please tell me the meaning? The word is not listed at askoxford.com, dictionary.com, m-w.com, and encarta.msn.com. Thank you!

The Oxford 'Hachette' gives

"fourberie (nf) (de charactère) - deceitfulness; (acte) - deceit"

So not quite 'fraud' which has a specific criminal meaning, or sense of deceit specifically for gain. It has the more general meaning of 'deceit' which would include fraud, trickery, cheating, etc.

I think you have the wrong word. The word FORGERY means almost the same as fraud in the English language but I have never encountered the word you are using.

i think what is closer is the worfd forgery, The word forgery means a faked document, or signing a name on a check that is a faked signature

The spelling is forbearing and it means something suspicious.
